Patna. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Patna, clinched the top spot in the ER-I Regional Round of the NTPC Electron Quiz 2025, held at Urja Auditorium, Patna. The winning duo, Aryan Dabad and Kirtan Jain, outperformed over a hundred teams to secure their victory.
Aman Kumar and Shivani Kumari from Govt. Engineering College, Vaishali, secured the second position, while Bhaskar Raj and Ayush Anand from Chandragupta Institute of Management, Patna (CIMP), finished third.
The competition kicked off with a written round in the morning, determining the finalists. Teams from IIT-Patna, GEC-Vaishali, LN Mishra Institute of Management-Patna, Chandragupta Institute of Management, Patna, and Govt. Engineering College-Vaishali progressed to the final round, which was an intense audio-visual quiz conducted by renowned quizmaster Gautam Bose from Delhi.
A total of 101 teams participated, representing premier institutions like IIT-Patna, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Patna, Bakhtiyarpur College of Engineering, MIT-Muzaffarpur, BIT-Mesra (Patna campus), and other notable engineering and management institutes from Bihar.
The top three teams from this regional round will now advance to the national semi-finals and finals, scheduled to take place in Noida on February 27 and 28, 2025.
Sudip Nag, Regional Executive Director (East-I), NTPC, felicitated the winners with cash prizes of ₹30,000, ₹20,000, and ₹10,000, respectively. Consolation prizes were awarded to the remaining finalists.
Speaking at the event, Nag remarked, “Just as NTPC powers the nation with energy, the Electron Quiz ignites the brilliance of young minds, fueling their knowledge and potential.” He highlighted that the NTPC Electron Quiz has been an annual event since its inception in 2004, with regional rounds followed by a grand national final.
The event witnessed the presence of several NTPC dignitaries, including Deepak Ranjan Dehuri, CGM (OS), Mathew E. Kovoor, GM (OS), Anil Kumar Chawla, Regional Head of HR, NTPC-Patna, and Dr. Karuna Chawla, Secretary, Sujata Ladies Club. A large audience, comprising students from various institutions, also attended the event.
